Being a VA has improved my life by affording me the
ability to work from my home based office during the hours I dictate.
This means I am available when my children come home from school and
have no worries if one of them wakes with a fever. Gone are the stressful
days of signing in and out, mass transit and required overtime. Yes,
I do still have set working hours - but they are as flexible as I need,
when I need. Being a VA has also introduced me to so many wonderful
people from all over the world. Through organizations such as www.vanetoworking.com,
I have been able to meet, share and support other VAs and they me. Lastly,
running a successful VA practice has improved my vision of me. I am
much more confident than I ever was working for someone else. I am proud
of what I have been able to accomplish to date and excited by the opportunities
of tomorrow!

Being a Virtual Assistant has completely changed my
life by empowering me to be the leader of my own business destiny, sharpen
and hone my skills until they are finely polished, put to use the 25
years of Executive Assistant experience I have, but most importantly,
I give people the gift of free time. Example: John Doe is an overworked
executive who is letting emails and appointments slip by, he just can’t
keep up. He almost forgot his wife’s birthday, and neglected to
book a hotel room for their 25th anniversary trip. In steps the Virtual
Assistant, who takes charge of his emails and calendar. She calls his
colleagues to remind them of meetings. She searched online and came
up with the perfect gift for this client’s wife, and found a great
hotel for their vacation. John Doe enjoyed increased peace and efficiency
in his life, without paying any employee related expenses to the VA.
He had an extra few hours to spend with his kids, or enjoy some golf.
Knowing that I have had a part in this gift is one of the most rewarding
things I have ever experienced. This is why I am a Virtual Assistant.

As a Virtual Assistant, I'm able to set goals and
achieve the benefiting rewards from assisting business owners, as they
succeed.

Assisting senior executives and business owners has
been a lifelong passion and a dream. I didn't realize until a couple
of years ago that my dream business had a name. Being a virtual assistant
has improved my life by providing the opportunity to work alongside
and learn from business owners across many industries. Clients treat
virtual assistants as who and what they are…valued, collaborative
business partners who allow the business owner time to focus on those
high revenue generating tasks that only they can do. Being a virtual
assistant has also given me freedom and flexibility in terms of the
types of clients I choose to work with, projects selected based on interest,
and a flexible work schedule. Once I’m able to quit my full-time
job and devote more time to my business, I would like to utilize my
experience to help educate women and minorities on the benefits of owning
your own business. As long as my clients recognize and appreciate the
value my company brings to their business, I will never downsize, deselect
or fire myself from my own company. That is job security that no employer
can ever provide. Finally, I love my clients!

Instant Assistant
I have always enjoyed working as an Administartive
Assistant, however, I did become very dissatisfied with my employers
work habits or lack thereof. I began praying for a job that I could
do from home. I also was searching the internet for jobs that I could
do at home, when I found an article on Virtual Assistants. I knew that
this was something I could do. Not to long after this my youngest son
got into a lot of trouble, and I needed something immediatley that would
give me a lot of flexibilty. So, I started my own VA business. The flexibility
allowed me to get my son the help he needed, and also made it possible
for me to be right there by his side through the whole thing. I also
enjoy the networking with other VA's. They are always willing to help
you out, so that you can succeed in your business.

I dreamed of having my own business while in high
school and working for a neighbor who was a single mother of two boys
and working from home. After working in a bank for 13 years after high
school, I decided to start my own business so I could stay home with
my children. I have never regretted this move even though it was tough
in the beginning. My greatest satisfaction comes from being able to
assist clients from all over the country with a great variety of assignments.
My local clients has been coming to me for an average of 20 years. I
highly recommend this path to anyone with a family.

"To be a happy, successful person whom others
can admire and want to learn from." That was a mission statement
that I put together 10 years ago and, I’m happy to say, I have
reached and surpassed that and it is all because I took the chance and
started my own Virtual Assistant practice. Starting any business is
hard work. There is so much to be done and a lot of time needs to be
spent on promoting and building it. However, even though I work harder
than I ever did when I had a “job”, I have never been happier!
There is nothing like the feeling that everything I do in my business
and all the accomplishments and milestones I have reached are all because
of my own efforts and passion to make this business a success. And now
I have the honour of helping other VAs to grow their businesses through
my co-founder role of the Canadian Virtual Assistant Connection and
by offering work to other VAs when I need help with my own overflow
In short, being a Virtual Assistant IS my life and I am not sure I could
be any happier!

I am a single mother of two beautiful daughters. I
have worked very hard in the corporate world for over 20 years and always
dreamed of having more time with my children. I heard about the VA industry
about a year ago and just knew that it was for me. I started my business
at the beginning - Dedicated Executive Solutions at the beginning of
2007 and absolutely love it. I now work from home as a business owner
am able to attend school functions and other things that I wasn't able
to do while working for others.

With over 26,000 email messages to manage I am an
unconventional multi-tasker. I wear many hats and virtual assistant
is one of the hats that I wear along with single parent and grandparent.
In addition to this I train and teach anyone who is interested on how
to build their own website and surf the internet at a reasonable fee.
The option of virtual assistant was first brought to my attention by
Priscilla Huff a very well known author in the work-at-home/women owned
businesses. In May of 2007 I was exposed to VAnetworking (Virtual Assistant
Networking Association) through Reader’s Digest. Reader’s
Digest published an article on Virtual Assistants and gave the web address
to VAnetworking and of course I signed up immediately. The thing I love most
about VAnetworking was they were prepared to welcome me with open arms. They
were knowledgeable about the article that was written on them and welcomed
anyone who wanted to join. The information and exposure that I have
gained in the last four months have been phenomenal. Tawnya does her
utmost to keep us informed and lets us know of opportunities that will
take us to the next level.

No more corporate headaches – no more long commutes
– a healthier lifestyle – more volunteer time - There’s
life after the corporate world! Due to a Corporate Restructure, my Production
Support position was eliminated. I used to work in a Corporate Security
Services environment inside a financial institution in Ohio where I
assisted employees nationwide. These employees were the bread and butter
of the organization as they used Remote Access to do their jobs. As
an experienced telecommuter, I saw first-hand that you do not need to
work inside a brick and mortar building. Unemployment ends soon. As
my career transition continues, I will take my investigative research
skills to the next level - re-tool education in business administration,
legal investigative/paralegal industry, take on part-time home-based
call center agent work for cash flow, and build my Virtual Assistant
practice as I take on sub-contracting work at the same time. I am 46-years-old
– more than half way to 50. I have 20-years worth of Secretarial
Science Office Assisting experience that I will use in exciting and
positive way. To be my own boss, self-employed, and enjoy what I do
for a living – a chance to make a difference!

Virtual assistance was the answer to turning my administrative
education and experience into a thriving business venture. I work with
clients who truly appreciate me, and who are not afraid to tell me.
I do the work I enjoy, in an environment that feeds my soul, and with
people who are positive and excited about going to work every day. I
develop new skills all the time to keep up with changing technology.
I have even discovered that I enjoy speaking in public, something that
has always terrified me! I discovered the AssistU Virtual Training Program
after being laid off from an administrative job 8 years ago, and started
Taylor Made Time in 2003. Now I have a successful business that gives
me new opportunities to grow as an individual and as a business owner.
Every time I move to a new level of growth in my business I learn new
ways to help other business owners. Virtual assistance has opened up
a whole world of possibilities for me and for the people I work with.

Time
I love being a Virtual Assistant and being my own
boss. Telling my clients when I will have their projects completed and
then having the sense of satisfaction and pride when I finish their
project on time or before the time they expected it. The Virtual Assistant
world has changed my life. I worked in a bricks and mortar job for 30
years. I have worked from home for more than 5 years and I love it and
will never (with God's help) go back to the 9:00 - 5:00 grind again.
I appreciate Tawyna and all the work she puts into the VAnetworking and all
the help and resources she makes available to us as VA's.
Your
Virtual Office Assistant
Being a virtual assistant has been one of the most
amazing jobs I have ever had. It has allowed me the gain knowledge that
I never thought that I would gain. It has allowed me to touch peoples
lives that I would not had an opportunity to touch, and I have been
touched by people that I would have never meet. I have taught myself
things that has given me the courage too set out and accomplish other
goals. Being a Virtual Assistant has allowed me the opportunity to be
a mother to my 2 children, and to be a wife to my husband. It has given
me the freedom to take my children to the doctor without begging someone
for the time off, it allows my two children to have a summer break,
where other children their age have to go to school year around. Being
a Virtual Assistant allows me to be an Angel to those who feel like
only prayers could help them in the growth of their business.

Not only did I get one of my first clients
from VAnetworking.com, after three years in my business...I
got another client from the RFP section just a month ago! This
is a very valuable board for getting information from your peers
and those who have "done it before" - but more importantly,
you can get clients by being a member.
If I had to do it all over again, I would
have joined sooner and participated even more in VAnetworking than I
did. The resources, access to RFPs, and the seminars are truly
life-changing (and business changing!) Don't spend a bunch of
money on some training program that has teachers that may or
may not be any good. Tawnya's VBSS system, as well as her forum,
have been proven time and time again to be all you need for
true business success as a Virtual Assistant.

“In the time I’ve been
a member at VAnetworking, my virtual assistant business has grown from
having zero clients to a near full time practice. I attribute
a large part of that success to having a place like VAnetworking to
come to for helpful, friendly advice, to find solutions to problems,
to learn about new ideas and techniques, and to find talented
virtual assistants who have helped me grow my business.”
