Being a mother of a child with Autism, I needed to
find something that allowed for flexible hours and still brought in
enough money to help with finances. I'll admit, it was a pretty rocky
ride, at first. But, today, with the support of VAnetworking, my VA business
allows me to pay all of our household finances and afford the outrageous
costs of a child with special needs. The best part is being able to
take him to all of his therapies and having the time to work with him,
myself. Now, my 10 month old daughter gets to enjoy her mommy on a full-time
basis, also. Susan McCool

As a single mom I have been able to find more job
and financial security while being home and available for my children.
Within 2 months of officially starting my business, my monthly income
is a bit over what my take-home pay was after my work expenses of childcare,
food, clothing and transportation costs were deducted. By 3 months of
I was laid off from four Corporate America jobs in 4 years. Due to company
buy-outs or reorganization, I have experienced job after job go away,
due to forces beyond my control. On top of that, I was having to commute
10 to 15 hours a week, in order to find work. I have a Master's degree
and live in a small town with few professional job opportunities. Where
local companies will not hire a secretary with a Master's degree they
do not have the same qualms of creating a business contract with one.
I give business professionals the ability to have an Executive, Marketing
and Personal Assistant on an as-needed basis, while still having time
to make my kids' school functions.

Dear Oprah - Hiring Tawnya
Sutherland is more than gaining a Virtual Assistant; you are helping
history being made as the American Woman can truly have her cake and
eat it too by staying home, raising a family, and bringing home a good
pay check. NancyP

I have freedom to choose who I work with, what
projects I do and what hours I work. I have time to spend with my family
and friends and to enjoy life to the fullest. I get to help others reach
their full potential by relieving their time to focus on what they love
to do.

Simplicity
Having been employed in a
secretarial and/or accounting capacity for over 27 years, this is where
my strengths lay. As I reached middle age I found myself wishing to
be self-employed and in control of my future. By reaching out to become
a virtual assistant, I am building the opportunity to do just this.
The future is up to me - and the future looks bright!

I have total control over my day (with the exception
of the input of my children), I get to stay at home with my children
while still contributing to the household income. The friends I have
met through VAnetworking are now part of my family too.

In January of 2005, I made a cross country move as
my husband took a new job offering better pay and opportunities. I had
a great job that I had to give up in order for my husband to pursue
his dream job. Since many women earn less than their spouses we find
ourselves starting over frequently. I was able through my virtual assistance
business to start my own career, follow my own dream and own my own
business. Now I know that if we ever have to move again, I can take
my business with me, and I won't be starting over and climbing some
corporate ladder again! I have also started a group for Virtual Assistants
in Southern California that meets monthly for support, new ideas and
help to achieve their dreams. The group has been the most rewarding
part so far. It is wonderful to be able to help other women achieve
their dreams while they help me achieve my own.

At Your Service
I have developed a sense of accomplishment that I
never had working a regular 9-5 office job. I have been able to earn
a decent income to support my family. Setting my own hours allowed me
the time to homeschool my kids.

Becoming a Virtual Assistant is one of the best things
I've done for myself and my family. My family is very important to me
- 2nd only to my God. I am now available to my husband and children
for those special events at school, sporting events or just a mid day
hug.

Being a VA has brought me back to life! I chose to
stay at home with my newborn daughter four years ago. And although those
were beautiful years, about three years into full-time mommy hood I
started to get the "itch" to use my skills (truthfully: my
brain!) again and start working to bring in my own income. Little did
I know that a couple of hours of research later I would be hooked. I
knew being a VA was what I was meant to do. Becoming a VA has enabled
me to have an amazingly flexible schedule so I can still put my family
first but also work on and develop something that is truly just mine.
I found my passion, I earn my own money, I make my own business decisions,
I have fulfilling relationships with my clients and I'm free to live
a life that fully integrates my two greatest passions: my family and
my business. Being a VA has bolstered my confidence, allowed me to regain
my identity, allowed me to meet amazing people I never would have (my
clients, fellow VAs and other professionals). I love being a VA.

Not only did I get one of my first clients
from VAnetworking.com, after three years in my business...I
got another client from the RFP section just a month ago! This
is a very valuable board for getting information from your peers
and those who have "done it before" - but more importantly,
you can get clients by being a member.
If I had to do it all over again, I would
have joined sooner and participated even more in VAnetworking than I
did. The resources, access to RFPs, and the seminars are truly
life-changing (and business changing!) Don't spend a bunch of
money on some training program that has teachers that may or
may not be any good. Tawnya's VBSS system, as well as her forum,
have been proven time and time again to be all you need for
true business success as a Virtual Assistant.

“In the time I’ve been
a member at VAnetworking, my virtual assistant business has grown from
having zero clients to a near full time practice. I attribute
a large part of that success to having a place like VAnetworking to
come to for helpful, friendly advice, to find solutions to problems,
to learn about new ideas and techniques, and to find talented
virtual assistants who have helped me grow my business.”
